Circu-light is a four-step circular scheme designed to encourage more sustainable practices in retail lighting. It financially incentivises our clients to return their products at the end of life so we can reuse and recycle them.
The retail industry is rife with construction waste due to regular refurbishments, tenancy expiration, and new store rollouts.
By participating in Circu-light, retailers significantly contribute to reducing waste products going to landfills. When brands choose Circu-light, they buy into more sustainable retail lighting and actively diminish the demand for new, unsustainable lighting fixtures made from virgin aluminium imported from the Far East.

Buy-Back Scheme
Every returned Shoplight biopolymer product earns a credit for the original purchaser which can be put toward the cost of a new biopolymer product. The value of each returned product may vary but typically represents around 10% of the original purchasing price.
Scrappage Scheme
Return any non-LED products, regardless
of the manufacturer, and receive a £5
discount or credit towards a new
biopolymer item.
For example, if you’re removing 100 metal aluminium track spotlights from your store, rather than throwing them into a landfill, return them to us to be correctly recycled, and achieve a £500 discount towards new Shoplight biopolymer alternatives.
Upgrade Scheme
For a fixed price per lighting fixture, our upgrade scheme benefits extend beyond component breakdown repairs supported by our 5-year parts and labour warranty. These benefits include:
- LED COB upgrades, which often deliver energy savings of over 40%
- Product refresh through our dishwasher-safe luminaire materials
- Store refocus to ensure no light wastage
Recycle
We have invested in technology and
machinery that allows us to shred
returned biopolymer parts and reform
them into brand-new products.
A significant proportion of our biopolymer range can be reused or recycled, which reduces landfill waste from retail lighting product turnover.
